Rob Steenburgh is a Space Scientist and Senior Space Weather Forecaster at NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC). Space weather describes the dynamic conditions of the Earth’s outer space environment, including any condition or event on the sun, in the solar wind, in near-Earth space and in our upper atmosphere that can affect technological systems, human life and human activity. Space Weather impacts numerous facets of everyday life, from where airplanes can safely fly, to how accurately a farmer plows his field.
