Note location* The Lone Tree Arts Center, 10075 Commons St., Lone Tree, 80124
Join us for three afternoon performances at the Lone Tree Arts Center. On Feb. 14, the Tina Phillips Jazz Trio performs jazz standards from the Great American Songbook, including “My Funny Valentine” and “Cheek to Cheek,” while demonstrating how musicians communicate and improvise with each other. On March 14, members of the Colorado Symphony join host Betsy Schwarm for “Youthful Endeavors,” an exploration of string quartets by Rossini, Schubert, and Mendelssohn, all written at early ages. On April 11, August Wilson’s Fences, directed by Wren T. Brown, will be presented. Fences, the sixth play in Wilson’s American Century Cycle, revolves around the life of garbage collector Troy Maxson. Following each performance, Academy participants will have the opportunity for additional engagement with the performers or members of the Arts Center artistic team.
