DESCRIPTION:

The course outlines historical information about relations between Russia and European States in the Interwar Period and During the Cold War—1917-1991. For the Interwar period, we will examine relations between the Soviet Union and France, England, Germany, Poland, Czechoslovakia, and the Baltic States. For the Cold War Period, we will learn about the USSR and Austria, Hungary, Germany, Poland, the Baltic States, and Finland.  Mary has recently been doing some on-site research for the course while in Austria and saw the British-Soviet demarcation lines first hand.
