We’re also holding a drawing for this beautiful ceramic orb by artist Bil Buhler, our Board president. It was made on a pottery wheel and then raku fired.  If you don’t have class that day, still feel free to come and enjoy. No RSVP necessary. The drawing will be held at the break at 11:15.

Oct. 25, 1 p.m.: The Academy Readers Theatre Group is performing its coursework, Arsenic and Old Lace, in the Music Room, 161, on Oct. 25 at 1 p.m. No need to RSVP. All Academy members are invited. There are 60 seats.

Oct. 31: We’re Giving You a Treat (no tricks) with Spring class topics. Check our Website, your email. Online and mail registration opens Jan. 6, 2017.

Nov. 1-3: Tattered Cover Book Fair: Notable Colorado novels will be on sale this week before and during classes. TC is giving The Academy 10 percent of its sales!

Nov. 3: Noon-1:30 p.m.  Ausma Zehanat Khan: A Muslim Detective in an Anti-Muslim World. She is the author of The Unquiet Dead, 2015, and The Language of Secrets, 2016. Her novels are built around human rights and war crimes in the Balkins. She holds a Ph.D. in international law and is the former editor of Muslim Girl magazine. Book signing after presentation.

Dec. 6, 24 Hours: Colorado Gives Day
You’ll be able to find the Academy for Lifelong Learning on ColoradoGives.org. This means you can donate and Colorado Gives will bump up your donation from First Bank’s Endowment Fund. (First Bank divvies up $1 million between all the Colorado nonprofits on its site. But we’ll need to make a strong showing! Please tell your friends and mark your calendar for Dec. 6.

Feb. 14: Valentine’s Day marks the start of the Spring semester at The Academy!
